NFOTB – Campfire Banana Boats

It’s New Food on the Blog time! It has been awhile since a recipe post so I thought I would kick the summer off with a yummy campfire recipe…Banana Boats! I remember making these campfire treats when I was younger at Camp Forest Springs. We would always have one night where we made dinner over a campfire, and these were always included. I decided to revive the tradition at our new firepit at the cabin.

First, preheat your oven….

Campfire

Ingredients
Bananas
Chocolate Chips
Mini Marshmallows
Foil

Cut the banana down the middle and stuff with chocolate chips.

Then stuff with marshmallows. We only had the big ones and had to cut them in half…the minis would work better.

Cook in your pre-heated oven for 5-10 minutes (give or take).

Carefully remove. Peel back foil and enjoy the ooey gooey chocolate/banana deliciousness! (Sorry I don’t have a picture of the finished treat..I was chowing down)

You forgot a very important point. Only use the bananas your guests like. I am pretty creeped out by the banana you used because it has black or brown spots on it. My banana would be spotless and a green to pale yellow color!
